NI TRC-8546 Transceiver Cable to NI-XNE host port, transceiver cable provides flexibility to connect buses to various devices on the PXI, CompactRIO, and CompactDAQ platforms.
Each isolated cable contains the transceivers required for the appropriate bus type.
NI TRC-8546 transceiver cables also feature termination resistors that can be enabled or disabled through software. Transceiver cables can be programmed and configured using the NI-XNET driver.

Technical Information

NI-XNET is one of PXI- and PCI-based high-performance, easy-to-use products for communicating with embedded networks including Controller Area Network (CAN), LIN, and FlexRay. NI-XNET integrates easily with LabVIEW, uses the same API functions to program CAN, LIN, and FlexRay buses, and automatically translates low-level frame data into usable engineering data. The new interface combines the high performance and flexibility of a low-level microcontroller interface with the speed and power of a Windows or LabVIEW real-time operating system development environment. They can also be easily integrated into desktop real-time PCs and real-time PXI systems.
PXI and PCI interfaces provide high performance and ease of use for demanding applications and are ideal for high signal count, low latency environments. The interface can be driven by DMA driven by an NI-XNET device, connecting the LIN bus to main memory, reducing system latency from milliseconds to microseconds. Using the driver, the on-board processor can transfer LIN frames and signals between the interface and the user program without going through CPU interrupts, reducing the time the main processor spends processing complex models and applications.
